Introducing Kwazulu Natal North Coast

The North Coast is known as the Dolphin Coast because of the bottle nose dolphins that can be seen all year round in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, the North Coast of KwaZulu/Natal is one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline.

It is also a region rich with the history of both the Zulu people and South Africa, with both the great Shaka Zulu and Nobel Laureate Albert Luthuli buried here. The Harold Johnson Nature Reserve offers a “muti” trail and there are various battle sites that are testimony to the many battles that were fought in South Africa’s history.

Sunbathers, families, swimmers and fishermen alike can take advantage of the warmer Indian Ocean, golden beaches and sparkling paddling pools available along the breathtaking coastline of the Dolphin Coast.

This region is also well known for its golf courses that are scattered all over, ensuring that every member of the family has the opportunity to relax and unwind during their stay.

The typically sub-tropical vegetation of the region and fields of sugar cane, make for spectacular landscapes and create a distinct paradise atmosphere.

The weather adds to the paradise feel of this region with warm sunny days, almost all year long. The wet summer months can get very balmy and humid reaching temperatures well into the 30Cs. The dry winter months do get cool but rarely dip into single digits.
